Basis Industrial is pleased to announce that Chief Operating Officer Nisha Patel has been named a winner of the 2026 Connect CRE Women in Real Estate Awards for the Florida region. The annual recognition honors accomplished women who have made significant contributions to the commercial real estate industry through leadership, professional achievements and community involvement.

Patel brings nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience spanning asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, property management and executive operations. Her extensive background and leadership have positioned her as an integral member of Basis Industrial's executive team as the company continues expanding its national portfolio.

Leadership at Basis Industrial

Since joining Basis Industrial as chief operating officer in July 2026, Patel has overseen several critical areas of the company's operations, including leasing, property management, asset management, technology, human resources and legal.

In this role, she focuses on strengthening operational efficiency, fostering collaboration across departments and supporting the infrastructure necessary to manage Basis Industrial's growing portfolio of more than 10 million square feet of self-storage and multi-tenant industrial real estate.

Her ability to connect investment strategy with day-to-day operations supports the company's continued growth and long-term objectives.

Nearly Two Decades of Commercial Real Estate Experience

Before joining Basis Industrial, Patel served as chief operating officer of Levin Management Corporation, where she oversaw daily operations and worked with executive leadership to advance strategic initiatives.

Previously, she was head of asset management and dispositions at Essential Properties Realty Trust, overseeing a $6 billion portfolio comprising more than 20 million square feet of real estate nationwide.

Patel also spent more than 12 years at PGIM Real Estate, advancing through positions in portfolio management, acquisitions and asset management. During her tenure, she managed approximately $2 billion in self-storage and retail assets and contributed to transactions across multiple property sectors, including industrial, office, multifamily, retail and self-storage.

Her accomplishments at PGIM included receiving three Lipper Awards recognizing achievements in investment performance and capital raising.

Commitment to Mentorship and Community Involvement

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Patel is committed to supporting the next generation of real estate professionals and expanding access to opportunities within the industry.

She serves on the advisory board for Montclair State University's Real Estate Program, contributing her expertise to support students preparing for careers in real estate.

During her time at PGIM Real Estate, Patel helped develop the company's relationship with YouthBuild, creating educational programming, industry tours and internship opportunities to introduce young people to careers connected to real estate.

She has continued her community involvement at Basis Industrial, including participating in a Habitat for Humanity build in Dallas alongside fellow team members and corporate volunteers.

The Connect CRE Women in Real Estate Awards recognize women whose accomplishments and leadership are helping shape the commercial real estate industry.

Patel's selection as a 2026 Florida region winner reflects her extensive experience managing large-scale real estate portfolios, leading operational teams and contributing to the professional development of others.
