Daniel I. Weinstein is the CEO of Basis Industrial. Prior to founding Basis, Dan founded Urban Storage Fund headquartered in Pennsylvania with regional development offices in Delray Beach FL, Austin TX and New York City, Urban Storage Fund is a real estate private equity fund focused on developing and acquiring institutional grade self-storage product in select urban core markets throughout the United States. Urban’s current portfolio consists of approximately half a million square feet of self-storage between New York City and Miami. Prior to forming Urban Mr. Weinstein was the US Acquisitions Manager for Public Storage, the largest publicly traded self-storage REIT, throughout the Eastern United States. In this capacity, Mr. Weinstein oversaw real estate acquisitions for the company throughout the region, where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, and closing direct purchase, joint venture, and partnership real estate opportunities in markets from New England to Florida and Illinois to Texas.

Anthony Scavo joined Basis in August 2021, he has over 28 years of real estate development & construction experience and now serves as the COO of the firm. Anthony started his career at the LeFrak Organization based in NYC where he spent 25+ years. At LeFrak he worked on and/or oversaw all Construction & Development activities in the NYC metro area where he developed and built over 3000+ rental apartment units, 1000+ hotel rooms, 500+ condo units, 5,000,000+ square feet of office space and numerous single story big box, retail and mixed-use buildings for the LeFrak family and companies. Anthony then moved to Red Apple Group where he spent 2 years, where he oversaw the Preconstruction of the tallest mixed-use building on the West Coast of Florida in the Tampa/St. Pete area. He also served as head of facilities and technical services for all the multiple business units under the Red Apple Group umbrella.

Prior to forming Rivergate Companies, Jay spent 20 years with CBRE, a global real estate service provider. As a Vice Chairman, he was a perennial top producer and was actively involved in the sale and financing of more than 400 transactions of all product types with an aggregate value in excess of $10 billion.

Stephen Garchik is Co-Chairman of Basis Industrial and has been a real estate developer and owner for 37 years. In that time he and his partners at The Evans Company of McLean, Virginia and subsequently at SJM Partners Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida have developed approximately 4,000,000 sq. ft. of office space, 2,500,000 sq. ft. of residential properties, 5,000,000 sq. ft. of self-storage projects, 1,500,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 500,000 sq. ft. of industrial product. Mr. Garchik serves on the board of several non-profit institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science and M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Aubrey Strul serves as Special Advisor to the Board at Basis Industrial. He is a senior entrepreneur, principal investor, and business operator with more than 40 years of experience across private equity, real estate, industrial operating companies, and family office investing in the United States and internationally.
With a background in accounting and finance, Mr. Strul has built his career around identifying opportunities, scaling businesses, deploying capital strategically, and creating long-term enterprise value. He has founded, owned, and operated numerous middle-market manufacturing businesses across plastic injection molding, chemical and epoxy manufacturing, plastic extrusion, and related industrial sectors. Over the course of his career, he has completed multiple institutional exits, including the sale of a chemical and epoxy manufacturing platform to Arsenal Capital Partners in 2018 and the sale of a plastic extrusion business to the investment banking arm of Bank of America in 1999.
In addition to his operating company experience, Mr. Strul has overseen his family office’s private investment platform for more than four decades, directing capital across private equity, real estate, and alternative investments. He currently manages family partnerships and trusts focused on long-term capital preservation, downside protection, and risk-adjusted returns. His real estate background includes extensive experience in warehouse development, land planning, and the creation of industrial parks.
Mr. Strul’s approach to business has carried directly into his philanthropic work, where he has focused on building programs with the same discipline, accountability, and long-term impact that have defined his professional career. In 2016, Aubrey founded the Kelly/Strul Emerging Scholars Program at Florida Atlantic University, which supports first-generation college students and helps them graduate debt free. The program has graduated approximately 100 alumni, with nearly 100 additional students currently enrolled. It has achieved a 100% graduation rate, with all participating students graduating debt free, compared to the national graduation average of approximately 11% for first-generation students. Aubrey serves as Chairman of the Board and acts as the hands-on CEO of the program.
Aubrey and his wife, Sally, are also deeply involved in a number of charitable and civic organizations throughout South Florida. Aubrey has served on the executive board of the Boca West Children’s Foundation for 15 years and has been actively involved with the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Hospice of Palm Beach County, and numerous other charitable organizations.

Prior to founding Basis, Dan founded Urban Storage Fund headquartered in Pennsylvania with regional development offices in Delray Beach FL, Austin TX and New York City, Urban Storage Fund is a real estate private equity fund focused on developing and acquiring institutional grade self-storage product in select urban core markets throughout the United States. Urban’s current portfolio consists of approximately half a million square feet of self-storage between New York City and Miami. Prior to forming Urban Mr. Weinstein was the US Acquisitions Manager for Public Storage, the largest publicly traded self-storage REIT, throughout the Eastern United States. In this capacity, Mr. Weinstein oversaw real estate acquisitions for the company throughout the region, where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, and closing direct purchase, joint venture, and partnership real estate opportunities in markets from New England to Florida and Illinois to Texas.

Anthony Scavo joined Basis in August 2021, he has over 28 years of real estate development & construction experience and now serves as the COO of the firm. Anthony started his career at the LeFrak Organization based in NYC where he spent 25+ years. At LeFrak he worked on and/or oversaw all Construction & Development activities in the NYC metro area where he developed and built over 3000+ rental apartment units, 1000+ hotel rooms, 500+ condo units, 5,000,000+ square feet of office space and numerous single story big box, retail and mixed-use buildings for the LeFrak family and companies. Anthony then moved to Red Apple Group where he spent 2 years, where he oversaw the Preconstruction of the tallest mixed-use building on the West Coast of Florida in the Tampa/St. Pete area. He also served as head of facilities and technical services for all the multiple business units under the Red Apple Group umbrella.

Caroline also served as Controller for CRE Vertical Advisors, a commercial real estate asset manager for family offices, where she was responsible for all accounting, treasury, and financial reporting for the firm. Starting her career in public accounting, Caroline brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and operations for real estate family offices and institutional fund managers.

Prior to that, Leslie spent 25 years in finance and accounting roles within The Oliver Carr Company, a Washington DC-based privately-owned real estate operating and investment entity. She started her career in public accounting with Councilor Buchanan & Mitchell, a Bethesda, Maryland based accounting firm. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Currently serves as Managing Director of Acquisitions at Basis Industrial, specializing in small-bay, shallow bay, and multi-tenant industrial assets. He is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and evaluating new investment opportunities. Since joining Basis, he has led the acquisition of 7 million square feet of industrial properties. Prior to Basis, Ahmad worked at CP Group, a privately held real estate investment firm focused on value-add and core-plus office opportunities across Florida and Texas. Before that, he managed acquisitions and asset management at Drawbridge Realty Trust, where he oversaw 5 million square feet and led the acquisition of 3 million square feet of single-tenant office properties, totaling over $1 billion in transactions. Ahmad began his career in commercial real estate at Wells Fargo and holds a B.A. in Economics from UCLA. In 2024, Ahmad was recognized by Globe Street as an “Aspiring Commercial Real Estate Leader” and received ConnectCRE’s “Next Generation Award”.
